Top 50 Places To Find Supplies After SHTF

In this video I talk about what I think are the TOP 50 places to find food and supplies if the SHTF. I should note that I define scavenging and looting very differently. I do not advocate looting. But I can see a reason for scavenging if the circumstances were that dire. What places would you add to the list? Let me know in the comments below.

Are you talking if all of these places are abandoned? Wouldn't you then have to break in? Isn't this considered, in and of itself, "looting"? What if the owners of these places were planning on returning to CLAIM these very goods that are, by all rights, theirs to begin with?
Next let's say you're knocking on doors down your street and come to a house, that by all appearances, seems to be abandoned. Then, let's say there is no response when you knock on the door, and you proceed to break it down to "scavage" the home for useable items, only to be met with a shotgun blast to the face?
FYI. Merely because someone doesn't answer their door (I certainly wouldn't) does NOT necessarily indicate that the property is abandoned, and could potentially be a danger to your life … just "food" for thought here.

  2. Roger Plessen says:

You didn't mention churches I am a pastor and most churches have a pantry for people in need. Find a member and ask I for one follow the commandment in in the
ancient Egyptian Book of the Dead which is reflected in the Bible " I have not failed to share my meal with a hungry man" If I have food I always will give food to the hungry.
Even in terrible emergencies clergy are a good resource. If they don't have anything to give they have a tremendous network of people they know and may be able to connect you with someone who needs your help in return for food or shelter.

  8. JT Medic says:

As far as ambulances go…. it’s a great though but I don’t think it will work out too well- the crew that was on it when it was abandoned will likely take everything that is worth a damn.

  9. Patrick Adams says:

Coffee shops…if it really goes bad then not only will it be a Godsend for you mentally but what a bartering item….1 month into an SHTF and people would kill for coffee
Also fast food restaurants McDonalds,Burger King,KFC etc, etc…great for food we all laugh and then get horrified at how long those burger patties last without going bad…..if there's a store abandoned i'm taking the patties and the buns and they also have tons of coffee as well and boxes and boxes of those little sachets of salt, pepper, sugar, sauces and long life milk…a fast food restaurant is a goldmine

  10. Throwback Mik says:

While all of these are great ideas, also be prepared to defend yourself when entering. Preppers aren’t the only ones thinking of surviving. Unfortunately there’s the criminal element who might be waiting for people to victimize as their means of survival.

The reality is: When we are all in a situation of extreme desparation, we may have no choice when it comes to doing or taking extreme, and questionable actions in the name of survival!! For this is the reason among others that people should get off their butts, and make necessary preps!!

Craft and hobby stores will have tools and repair kits, needles, threads, buttons, etc. Full scale computer stores like Micro Center and Fry's. I know that Micro Center carries a large hobby section with all sorts of tools including soldering irons, solder. They also carry plenty of regular tools, batteries, flashlights, small Pelican cases.
